Total exhibitor hardstand space confirmed for 2015’s Gold Coast International Marine Expo has now surpassed 100 per cent of last year’s total.
This follows the busiest week ever for the passionate Expo team as phones at the Coomera headquarters have been ringing hot with a late rush of exhibitor bookings for ‘the boat show with so much more’ (21-24 May 2015).
“Exceeding last year’s total hardstand space is a real milestone moment for the Expo … and there are still two weeks to go,” said Event & Marketing Manager Emma Milne.
“The vast and growing array of marine displays really does ensure a fantastic Expo experience for our visitors as we have so much to see and do which will really appeal to everyone who loves the boating life.”
The latest respected marques to confirm their support for the Expo – 21-24 May at the Gold Coast Marine Precinct at Coomera – are magnificent Marlow motor yachts, beautiful Beneteau sailing yachts and luxurious Lagoon catamaran cruisers, in addition to exclusive boat show premieres from high-end automotive marques BMW and Land Rover.
Also announced this week is the Expo exclusive display from ‘The Little Lifeboat Who Could’ – the legendary 1969-built Sea Guardian which has rescued scores of souls stricken in heavy seas from the east coast of Australia, and also from waters off Ireland and Britain.
“But they are just some of the announcements for Expo this week – we have also added 300 more FREE car-parking spaces, more fun and informative attractions and more of the world’s leading luxury brands,” said Ms Milne.
‘Australia’s new paradigm of boat show’ has also this week pushed the throttle forward on its multi-platform marketing campaign highlighting the Gold Coast as the nation’s undisputed capital of recreational boating business.
“This year’s Expo line-up of luxury power and sailing yachts – across our 3 event marinas – will be nothing short of spectacular,” said Ms Milne.
“Marlow, headquartered in Florida, has just appointed Gold Coast-based Pacific Motor Yachts as its east coast dealer and they will launch the brand exclusively at Expo with the majestic Marlow Explorer 61E,” she said.
“French manufacturer Beneteau has had a reputation for innovation for over 130 years and has built over 100,000 motor yachts, sailing vessels and boats. The marque will be represented at Expo by Manly-based dealer Spirit Marine International, which will have an on-water display of two Beneteau sailing yachts – an Oceanis 45 and a First 34.7.
“And Lagoon are world leaders in sailing catamaran cruisers and this marque will be represented with vessels from Spirit Marine and Multihull Central with 39 and 57 models.”
Ms Milne said – now just two weeks out from Expo – there were just a handful of marina berths left and urged dealers to finalise their bookings this week.
“Expo will have the latest in luxury and innovation from the best builders of motor and sailing vessels in the world, as well as trailer boats of all shapes and sizes, engines, equipment and accessories, fun and futuristic water toys – in fact every marine display you could possibly imagine,” she said.
“There will be so much to see and do at Expo that our visitors will need more than one full day to experience everything there is on offer,” said Ms Milne.
“That is why this year we have introduced a multiple-day ticket offer to allow boating enthusiasts to see and enjoy our four fantastic days. All tickets can be purchased online and will have a chance of winning a Sirocco RIB and Honda outboard package valued at $4200.”
