Marine propulsion powerhouse Mercury has joined the growing list of industry leaders staging the biggest-ever Gold Coast International Marine Expo at Coomera in May.
In the countdown to the four fantastic days of fun at Expo, organisers are experiencing a flurry of activity as world-leading businesses and brands rush to secure their display sites at ‘the boat show with so much more’ as organisers create additional space to accommodate this demand.
The Expo – to be held at Australia’s boating industry capital, the Gold Coast Marine Precinct, from 19-22 May 2016 – will be a massive marine showcase featuring everything from large luxurious motor and sailing yachts to lightweight tenders and boats designed for sports, fishing and family fun.
Also on display will be everything from engines to accessories and equipment to jet skis, kayaks, fishing equipment … and everything else in between … across a giant 3km Expo display circuit.
“We are very proud to be a part of staging the 2016 Expo for our boating community,” said Mercury Marine’s regional manager for Queensland and the Northern Territory, Mike Wilesmith. “It’s a great initiative for our marine industry and we are looking forward to showcasing our world-class products in such a unique marine environment.”
Mr Wilesmith said that, as part of the ‘Mercury Edge’ initiative, families can come to Expo and sea trial a wide range of Mercury outboards across a range of boats, with no charge and with no obligation.
“It doesn’t matter if your family is looking for your next Mercury outboard or if you are completely new to boating, we’d love to show you just what our engines can do on the water,” he said.
Event & Marketing Manager Emma Brown said it is exciting that the world’s leading manufacturer of marine propulsion engines is supporting the growing Expo and its vision of encouraging more families to enjoy all the rich and rewarding benefits of the boating life.
“We are very excited that Mercury Marine will be at Expo in 2016 for the first time as a corporate entity and the extensive Mercury outboards range will be showcased and sea-trialled exclusively in May here at Australia’s boating industry capital, the Gold Coast Marine Precinct at Coomera.
“Mercury Marine will be taking a 50-metre frontage at the Gold Coast City Marina site for their sea trials each day of the Expo from 9am-4pm.”
Mercury is also the brand behind Mercruiser, Mercury Diesel, Mercury Inflatables, Mercury Oils, Mercury Racing, MotorGuide and a growing range of Mercury/Quicksilver parts and accessories as well as Bermuda fishing equipment. The marque will be represented by seven dealers at the Expo, with outboard sea trials on boating brands including Quintrex, Extreme, Bluefin, Streaker, Evolution, Revival and also Misty Harbour Pontoon Boats.
Mercury Marine joins International Yacht Paint, Stefan Boating World, Clipper Motor Yachts, Gold Coast City Marina, Quintrex, Riviera, Stefan Boating World and The Boat Works as major partners bringing the Expo to Coomera.
“The growing support for Expo from right throughout our marine industry is very gratifying given our efforts to create an entirely new form of boat show experience,” said Mrs Brown.
“Expo is a terrific example of how an industry can work together to provide a truly engaging experience for the boating public, and to foster jobs, growth and opportunity within our industry overall.
If you love boating, you’ll love the Expo in May
